Below Zero

Water is the magical substance without which life on earth could not exist. In the world around us, water can be found in many places and in different forms. It exists as a liquid in lakes, rivers and oceans, as an invisible gas in the atmosphere, and finally as a frozen solid in the forms of snow crystals and ice.

This series of 15 images is all about the intimate details that can be found in ice. Made over three seasons on frozen lakes in the Canadian Rockies, these images show us the wonderful nature of water below zero.
