Underfoot

Sometimes we don’t pay much attention to rocks. Some rocks have existed for millions or even billions of years and yet we often step on them without even giving them a second thought. If we slow down though, and really take a look, we will see that many of these rocks are quite beautiful.

This set of nine images (presented as three triptychs) was made recently during a single morning at Sun Point in Glacier National Park, Montana. Although this mini-project was completed in one day, its origins go back to 2010 when, while at the same location, I made this image: “The Rocks Beneath our Feet”.  I have always liked that image and I’ve always wanted to go back to shoot more so I’m really glad that I finally did.SunPoint Triptych #1 SunPoint Triptych #2 SunPoint Triptych #3
